On September 8, GRAND CABLE received a formal order from El Salvador for the supply of AAC Carnation 1431.5 KCMIL all-aluminum conductors. This marks GRAND CABLE's first supply achievement in the Salvadoran market, officially extending the company's business footprint to Central America.

The purchaser is a well-established local power engineering service provider in El Salvador, with expertise in power system protection, testing, and engineering services. The company has previously participated in protection device calibration work for hydroelectric stations and transmission lines in the country. The Carnation 1431.5 KCMIL AAC conductor ordered is a large cross-section all-aluminum overhead conductor with a rated breaking strength of 24,300 lbs and an ampacity of approximately 1,253 A, typically used in high-voltage transmission lines and substation connections.

El Salvador's power market is currently undergoing a period of large-scale upgrade and expansion. The country's national transmission company, ETESAL, operates 29 substations and over 1,400 kilometers of transmission lines, and is advancing a 10-year grid expansion program valued at approximately USD 1 billion, covering new substations, transmission lines, and energy storage facilities. Meanwhile, affected by El Niño, El Salvador's hydropower generation dropped significantly in 2026, increasing the share of thermal power and making stable transmission infrastructure more urgent. ETESAL also plans to build a 230kV transmission line running along the coastal region to connect the western, central, and eastern grid rings.

GRAND CABLE's supply of Carnation conductors comes at a favorable window as El Salvador accelerates its grid upgrades. The first order establishes a track record for the company's future participation in transmission line and substation projects in the country. GRAND CABLE will organize production in accordance with the contract and ensure timely delivery of the products to the project site in El Salvador.
