Project News:

GRAND CABLE has entered into a supply agreement with a Chinese state-owned engineering contractor well-established in the Philippine market. Under the contract, GRAND CABLE will provide bare copper grounding conductors (both tinned and untinned) along with insulated low-voltage grounding cables for the MTerra Solar Project in the Philippines. All products will be manufactured and delivered in accordance with the approval specifications of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

Located in the provinces of Nueva Ecija and Bulacan on Luzon Island, the MTerra Solar Project is the largest solar-plus-storage facility in the Philippines, with a planned capacity of 3.5 GWp for solar power generation and 4.5 GWh for battery energy storage. Once fully completed, it is expected to be among the largest solar projects worldwide. The project is owned by Terra Solar Philippines Inc., with the first phase scheduled for completion in 2026 and full commercial operations targeted between 2026 and 2027.

GRAND CABLE's scope of supply includes tinned and untinned bare copper grounding conductors, as well as insulated low-voltage grounding cables. These products will serve the grounding protection network for the solar field and the energy storage system, delivering safe and reliable grounding paths for electrical equipment to ensure stable operation under lightning strikes or fault conditions. The technical specifications strictly adhere to NGCP's approval requirements and are fully aligned with local grid interconnection standards and environmental conditions.

The state-owned contractor, acting as the system integrator, carried out comprehensive evaluations of product quality, technical standards, and project experience during the supplier selection process. GRAND CABLE secured the order on the strength of its mature manufacturing processes and quality management system in the grounding materials sector. A representative of GRAND CABLE commented: "Participation in this landmark solar-plus-storage project in the Philippines is a strong endorsement of our product technical strength and delivery capabilities. We will strictly follow NGCP standards in production, ensure on-time delivery, and contribute to the successful grid connection of the project."

GRAND CABLE has been actively expanding its footprint in the international new energy market, exporting products to multiple countries and regions across solar, wind power, energy storage, and conventional power infrastructure sectors. This contract further strengthens the company's presence in the Southeast Asian new energy market and adds valuable experience for future involvement in large-scale solar-plus-storage projects internationally.
