Project News:

Recently, GRAND CABLE has entered into a partnership with an energy development company in Burkina Faso to supply low-voltage alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) cables for several distributed photovoltaic projects in the country. This collaboration marks a new breakthrough for GRAND CABLE in the local market—following its previous involvement in grid infrastructure projects, this is the first time the company will provide products for small-scale off-grid distributed PV projects in Burkina Faso.

Burkina Faso is rich in solar energy resources, yet the national electrification rate remains below 50%, with electricity access particularly limited in rural areas. In recent years, the country has been actively developing photovoltaic power generation, with distributed and off-grid systems regarded as crucial pathways to improve rural electrification rates and ensure reliable power supply for commercial and industrial users. Such projects impose stringent requirements on the environmental adaptability, reliability, and safety of cable products.

The cables supplied by GRAND CABLE will be used to connect key components such as PV modules, inverters, and energy storage systems, serving as critical infrastructure to ensure stable power transmission. The company stated that it will provide tailored product solutions based on local climatic conditions and project-specific needs, supporting Burkina Faso's clean energy deployment and sustainable development goals.

This collaboration not only demonstrates GRAND CABLE's ability to expand its presence in emerging energy markets but also reflects the active participation of relevant enterprises in supporting Africa's energy transition. As Burkina Faso continues to advance its PV development plans, such infrastructure cooperation is expected to bring more stable and clean electricity to the region.
