Grand Cable recently welcomed a delegation from Kenya's prominent energy solutions provider, JASBEL Energy, marking a significant step in their strategic collaboration focused on major African power infrastructure projects.
The visit, occurring against the backdrop of an ongoing key tender, underscores the deepening partnership between the two companies. In November 2024, Grand Cable partnered with JASBEL Energy on a crucial bid for the Ethiopian Electricity Utility (EEU), supplying its advantageous AAAC 95 conductors and Tie Wire. JASBEL Energy's Commercial Manager, Mr. Mucheru Moses, who led the visiting team, expressed strong confidence in the bid's outcome during discussions. He highlighted JASBEL's exceptionally strong relationship with EEU and its established track record across the continent, significantly boosting the project's prospects.
"Collaborating with Grand Cable on the EEU bid leverages our deep understanding of African power sector needs and our solid client relationships with their proven product quality and manufacturing excellence," stated Mr. Moses. "We see immense potential in this partnership to deliver reliable and efficient power solutions where they are most needed."
The JASBEL Energy team conducted a comprehensive tour of Grand Cable's advanced production facilities. This firsthand observation allowed them to witness the rigorous quality control processes and technological capabilities underpinning Grand Cable's product range, including the AAAC conductors specified for the Ethiopian project.
Online research confirms JASBEL Energy as a significant and established player in the African energy landscape. The company boasts a proven track record executing complex power projects not only in its home market of Kenya but also across key nations like Ethiopia and Uganda. Furthermore, JASBEL has successfully expanded its footprint into the Middle East, demonstrating its capacity for managing large-scale international infrastructure ventures. This established presence and project management expertise make JASBEL a highly valuable partner for Grand Cable's ambitions in these growth markets.
Beyond reviewing the current EEU bid, the visit facilitated in-depth discussions on future cooperation. Both teams explored opportunities to leverage their combined strengths – Grand Cable's manufacturing prowess and product innovation with JASBEL Energy's regional expertise, client network, and project execution capabilities – to pursue upcoming power transmission and distribution projects across Africa and potentially the Middle East.
"The visit by JASBEL Energy was highly productive," commented a Grand Cable spokesperson. "Witnessing our operations reinforced their confidence in our capabilities, while their insights into the African and Middle Eastern markets are invaluable. We are aligned in our commitment to supporting critical power infrastructure development in these regions and are actively planning how to combine our strengths for future bids and projects. This partnership is a cornerstone of our strategy to expand our impact across these dynamic markets."
The collaboration between Grand Cable and JASBEL Energy represents a powerful synergy, uniting manufacturing excellence with deep regional market access and expertise, poised to contribute significantly to the enhancement of power grids across Africa and beyond.
